Bob's leadership on environmental sustainability was acknowledged by his Provincial appointment as a Founding Director of Climate Change Central. Bob’s accomplishments over the years have been recognized with a number of awards. In 1999 he received the AUMA Award of Excellence for outstanding service to municipal government in Alberta. Bob was a recipient of the 2000 Calgary United Way “Spirits of Gold Award” for co-chairing the Calgary Homeless Initiative. In 2005, Alberta Venture Magazine named Bob one of Alberta's 50 Most Influential People. Bob has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alberta and a Master of Arts Degree in Resources and the Environment from the University of Calgary. He is married to Wendy Eastman and enjoys traveling and amateur photography. |

Bob Hawkesworth was re-elected for a sixth time to represent Ward 4 in October 2007. Bob's first experience on Calgary City Council, however, began in 1980 as Alderman for Ward 3 and continued until 1986 when he was chosen by his constituents to represent them in the Provincial Legislature as MLA for Calgary Mountainview.
