Fred Walter

Fred Walter is the Director of Energy Efficiency and Conservation at Climate Change Central.

Since joining the organization in 2003, Fred has led the design and delivery of a number of initiatives focused on greenhouse gas emission reductions, energy efficiency and conservation, renewable energy, consumer education and technology commercialization. These initiatives have included pilots and programs for Alberta consumers and businesses in addition to a $100 million interest-free loan program for Alberta municipalities. Fred was also responsible for the development of C3 EnviroTech Solutions, a $6 million program aimed at accelerating the commercialization of new environmental technologies in Western Canada. Fred has also been involved in communication activities surrounding Carbon Capture and Storage in Western Canada

Fred holds a Master of Science in Geography from the University of Calgary and prior experience in the field of Spatial Information Systems following an undergraduate degree a Simon Fraser University.
