Janet Gehring

Janet Gehring is the Accounting Manager for Climate Change Central.  In this role, she focuses on providing accurate information, reports and analyses for senior management, external auditors and the Board of Directors.

Janet joined Climate Change Central in May, 2004 coming from the Calgary Zoological Society and, previously, Alberta Wheat Pool/Agricore United.  At the Zoo, she gained experience in not for profit and charities accounting for all aspects of the Zoo's business.  Specifically, she changed cash management procedures and infrastructure to improve the security for the Zoo's staff and assets.  Previous to the Zoo, for 15 years, she worked as an analyst and manager in the agriculture sector of Alberta's economy specializing in grain, seed and agro business accounting.  She was directly involved with the transition from smaller grain elevators to cement grain terminals and with the improvement of grain inventories transportation throughout Alberta.  More recently, she managed the accounting for the procurement, processing and retail activities of the seed business division.

Her career interest always has been in the living sciences and, to that end, she gained a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree from the University of British Columbia and, later, became a Professional Agrologist and Certified Management Accountant to further her aspirations.
