Simon Knight Appointed Acting President/CEO

The board of Climate Change Central has appointed Simon Knight Acting President and CEO of the Alberta-based climate change organization.

Outgoing President and CEO Allan Amey has been appointed first President Designate of the federal government's Climate Fund Agency as of November 14.

"Allan Amey's contribution and leadership to the first-ever provincial climate change agency in Canada have been extremely valuable," said Alberta Environment Minister Guy Boutilier, co-chair of Climate Change Central.

Knight has been with Climate Change Central since its inception, most recently serving as vice president. He is active in the building sector, participating in the Net Zero Home Coalition and Interim President of the Alberta Chapter of the Canadian Green Building Council. He is also the Alberta representative on the National Council for Energy Efficiency.

The board of directors of Climate Change Central will initiate a search for a new president and CEO.

Climate Change Central is a public-private partnership established to take action in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Alberta.
